Design System Team Leadership

Lead the design system initiative for Freddie Mac Multifamily's Loan Transaction Product, MyOptigo — scaling it from a single patterns library into a fully staffed, cross-functional team. Now managing 3 designers and 4 developers, driving consistency and velocity across 16+ product teams.

Expanded the system's reach beyond Multifamily toward a company-wide web components library, enabling shared UI infrastructure across Freddie Mac at scale. Concurrently leading development of an AI surfaces library purpose-built for agentic workflows — establishing design patterns for a new generation of AI-native product experiences.

Continuous discovery Habits

Evangelized and scaled Teresa Torres’ Opportunity Solution Tree (OST) model across product and design teams, driving alignment on the most impactful opportunities.

By targeting solutions that balanced user value with business outcomes, I improved prioritization and focus across roadmaps. I also embedded continuous discovery habits into team rhythms, ensuring decisions were guided by real evidence rather than assumptions.

APP Structure: UI Chrome

Redesigned the platform's UI Chrome as a modular, plug-and-play "block" structure, creating a scalable foundation aligned with micro and mini frontends. The redesign enabled consistent navigation and application structure across products while supporting component-driven delivery. By leveraging Figma's MCP Server and GitHub Copilot,

I accelerated prototyping of the UI Chrome components, reduced translation gaps, and improved developer alignment — resulting in faster time to testing and deployment. To support adoption and reuse, I also created a Figma Make Template that enables teams to rapidly scaffold UI Chrome components directly from Figma.

Designing the Future of Trust (for Freddie Mac)

Led early discovery for the Fraud & Financial Crimes product in MyOptigo, mapping the end-to-end investigations workflow and defining process and operations roles. Identified opportunity areas using a Jobs-To-Be-Done (JTBD) survey and assumption mapping, and explored how internal AI (FredAI) and Microsoft Copilot could automate up to 85% of manual tasks. Synthesized insights into clear risks, pain points, and future capability opportunities that shaped product direction.

E2E ALignment Tool

Built a scalable journey framework unifying 16+ product domains across the full multifamily loan lifecycle. Positioned it as a central strategy and alignment tool for roadmap planning and experience design, while also uncovering opportunities to implement AI by mapping workflows and decision points across journeys.

ResearchOps Infrastructure

Built the first layer of a sustainable research practice by operationalizing intake and knowledge capture. Created automated request forms tied to a study library, seeded a recruitment list, and laid the groundwork for a searchable insight repository—positioning user research as a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) use case for Freddie Mac’s internal AI tool, FredAI.

AI x DesignOps

Pioneered experiments in AI-powered design and product ops, testing workflows with Figma Make, v0.dev, GitHub Copilot, and MCP to explore UI generation (prompt-to-Angular) and rapid design-to-dev flows. The work demonstrated new efficiencies and sparked roadmap conversations on how AI can scale design and delivery across the organization.

Org-Level Product Team VisioninG

Contributed to shaping and articulating a product vision centered on trust, scalability, and innovation — weaving design's role directly into organizational strategy. Defined objectives that positioned design as a driver of Trusted Solutions, Empowered Teams, and Better Outcomes, and ensured initiatives across research, patterns, and AI experimentation aligned to these strategic pillars.

This vision culminated in the launch of a program-wide vision website — released by the SVP of Technology and Operations Risk for Freddie Mac Multifamily — serving as the strategic alignment anchor for the entire product program.

To bring the vision to life across business domains, I created an interactive prototype → that envisions the future of each Multifamily business area, giving stakeholders and product teams a tangible, navigable picture of where the program is going.

Extended this work into agentic product experiences — designing an interactive agentic workflows prototype for underwriters (video) that envisions how AI agents can streamline complex loan processing tasks. This prototype serves as a north star reference for AI-native UX patterns within MyOptigo.

Vision website launched May 2026.
